Domicile warning for reserved-category aspirants

CSPC Recruitment 2026 exam pattern

The online Computer-Based Test (CBT) is of two hours and contains 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. It has two parts:

  • Part I: Professional subject — 80 questions.
  • Part II: General section — 20 questions covering General Knowledge, English verbal ability, Hindi verbal ability, logical reasoning, general mental ability and quantitative abilities.

Each correct answer carries one mark. A wrong answer attracts a negative marking of 0.25 mark. Unattempted questions receive no marks.

Selection process by post

The selection route is not the same for every post. This is especially important for aspirants preparing for JE, Fire, Security, Stenographer or DEO positions.

Post group CBT Physical / skill test Interview Merit basis
AE, Accounts/Assistant Manager, Medical Officer, Programmer, Shift Chemist Yes No Yes CBT + interview
Fire Officer and Security Officer Yes Physical fitness test Yes CBT + interview after physical fitness
JE, Assistant Law Officer, Assistant Lab Technician, Nurse, ECG Technician, Radiographer, Attendant and similar posts Yes No No CBT merit
Stenographer Yes Shorthand and typing tests No CBT + shorthand + skill test
Data Entry Operator Yes Hindi and English typing No CBT + skill test

How to apply online

  1. Visit the official Chhattisgarh State Power Companies website and open the recruitment section.
  2. Read the detailed instructions and choose the correct company, post, branch and category.
  3. Enter personal, educational, domicile and category details exactly as shown on your documents.
  4. Upload the required photograph, signature, certificates and supporting documents in the prescribed format.
  5. Fill company preferences carefully wherever the post is available across CSPTCL, CSPDCL and CSPGCL. The notice states that the company allocation is based on merit, preference and vacancy availability, and a later change request will not be entertained.
  6. Pay the applicable fee online by 26 November 2026 at 11:55 p.m.
  7. Submit the form early, download the final application and retain the payment receipt.

Avoid these application mistakes

  • Do not select a branch or post without checking the exact qualification.
  • Do not wait until the final hour to upload documents or pay the fee.
  • Do not assume that a reserved-category certificate from another state will provide Chhattisgarh reservation benefits.
  • Do not ignore the physical standards for Fire and Security posts.
  • Do not overlook the typing or shorthand requirement for Stenographer and DEO posts.

Aspirant preparation strategy

Start by choosing one realistic target post. Make a one-page eligibility checklist containing your branch, qualification, age, domicile, category, fee and required documents. This prevents a common mistake: preparing for a post but discovering at document verification that the qualification or certificate does not match.

For technical posts, divide preparation time between the professional subject and the 20-question general section. Since the CBT has 80 professional questions, technical accuracy should be your first priority. At the same time, practise Hindi and English verbal ability, reasoning, general knowledge and quantitative aptitude every day.

For Stenographer and DEO applicants, begin skill-test practice immediately instead of waiting for the CBT result. Fire and Security applicants should check the physical requirements in the notice and complete medical or fitness preparation well before the next stage.
